We start shearing our alpacas on the Victoria Day weekend, and on Sunday, May 18th, we have an Open House.
It is a free event, and you can pop in anytime during the day. You can watch us at work, visit with shorn and fluffy alpacas, stay as long as you like, bring a picnic.
You can join the shearing process and get dirty with the team!
Please note that we tie the alpacas down during the shearing process to keep them and us safe. It does not hurt them, but of course, they don't like it, and some will complain loudly and clearly. It is cruel not to shear alpacas, as their hair keeps growing and would mat and become very heavy.
