Soccer is a Canadian favourite and a popular pastime in Middlesex County. Well-maintained fields can be found throughout the area, and are available for local teams, or just for a friendly family game. Come out and score a goal!
Coldstream Conservation Area is near the bend of the Sydenham River and includes cold springs which feed an old cedar swamp and the river itself. The site contains a Class I provincially significant wetland, reservoir, floodplain woods, a re-vegetated gravel pit and an upland deciduous woodlot as well as a day use area, playground, and soccer field.
The Cuddy Sports Complex features two regulation-size soccer fields. In 2002, the complex was named in honour of noted business entrepreneur and community leader Mr. Mac Cuddy.
Developed with the assistance of the Optimist Club of Ilderton, Deerhaven Optimist Park serves nearby residents and soccer groups. This park contains a playground, an unlit tennis court, a basketball court, and two full size soccer fields (each of which can be converted into one or more mini fields).
Westbrook Park is an active park that contains one of three splash pads in the municipality. This park also has two lit tennis/pickleball courts and an intermediate soccer field. Also located at this park is a playground, full basketball court, and practice ball diamond.
Komoka Park has one full and one intermediate soccer field.
Lions Park is an active park located in Delaware and includes a number of outdoor facilities including an unlit ball diamond, one full and two mini soccer fields, two unlit tennis courts, and an outdoor ball hockey rink. The ball hockey rink was constructed with the assistance of the Delaware Lions Club. Also located at this Park is the Delaware Library.
Backing on to the Lucan Community Memorial Centre, this park offers 3 full-sized soccer fields, 2 ball diamonds, a walking track, playground equipment, tennis court, skate park, dog park and is the site of the Lucan Pool (outdoor).
Meadowcreek Park is a large active park situated in the southeast corner of the Ilderton community. This park has two full soccer fields (each of which can be cross-programmed as two mini fields) in addition to water retention ponds, playground equipment, small shelter and washrooms. Parking is also available at this park to accommodate large soccer events.
Mount Brydges Lions Park has a baseball diamond, picnic pavilion, soccer field, playground, washroom facilities and public parking.
Pleasant Park is a small active park containing a full unlit soccer field. The park and associated equipment was donated and is used often by the soccer association, conditions permitting.
