Although Middlesex is a mecca for history, culture, attractions, events and entertainment, the region is ultimately defined by the charm of all its residences. The attractions will draw you to our area – still its the people that make it memorable.

Southwest Middlesex boasts some of the most bountiful farmland in the county and as such, agriculture is at the heart of this area; it is introduced within the school system to educate children in farming and farm safety.

Meandering along the southern limit of this municipality, the Thames River, designated a Heritage River, was once the route most often travelled between Canada and the United States and was the location of many historical battles such as the Battle of Longwoods during the War of 1812.

Strathroy-Caradoc

Strathroy is the main urban centre of the Municipality. The Downtown is a unique and authentic heritage downtown boasting Victorian "yellow-brick" homes, and quaint shops and restaurants.

The Sydenham River, with its parklands and conservation areas make this the only major watershed which lies completely in the Carolinian Life Zone and is relatively undisturbed by industrial development. This has made the river a biological treasure, supporting an incredible variety of aquatic life making it one of the most species-rich watersheds in all of Canada, several of them being indigenous to the area.
