The Ilderton Village is surrounded by agricultural land, yet minutes from the city of London. This makes the Ilderton Farmers Market the ideal setting for the meeting of urban with rural. It's a place where local farmers set up stalls on Saturday mornings to sell their fruits, vegetables, meats, cheese, and wines, and patrons chat over pastries and coffees while enjoying some live music. This market runs from 9 am - 12 noon, every Saturday from June 10 - October 7th.
The farmers market is a not-for-profit venture hosted by the Ilderton Area Business Association and run entirely by volunteers. It began in 2012 as a way to support the relationship between the community and local producers, to enhance access and awareness of local fresh food, and to provide a social gathering place within the business district of the village. With the growing awareness of the benefits of locally grown food and its charm as a social venue where friends and neighbours gather, the market has grown in both size and popularity every year since!
